it took me 30 minutes to get a cab going to philcoa last night.
i got bored during the wait. so i let my crazy thoughts wander and explore the world of the insane. *wide grin*
just wanted to share my weird thoughts.

i am closest to my bangayan cousins. this is their story: their parents planned to have only three children. thus Xavier, Yvette and Zeus were born. (notice the XYZ name pattern).. but wonder of wonders! my aunt and uncle were blessed with another child.. thus, Alger became their fourth child. (good thing they didn’t have more children, otherwise they’d complete the alphabet. XYZA onwards!)
thing is, i thought they have wonderfully nice names.. but oh well, we just had to ruin the names.
xavier. when we were kids, we cannot pronounce ‘xavier’. so until now, he’s ‘ebey’ to us. yvette (or ivy) is ‘bingbing’. and zeus, poor zeus, will live till he’s old and grey being ‘ze-yus’ because the parents insisted on the pronunciation. and with our buyoy tongues, ‘zeyus’ became ‘eyuk’. and here’s what’s worse, alger is called ‘regla’ at home. (wtf?!?)

talking about strange names, someone from my highschool was named ‘quadratullah’. and it baffles me until now. how do you create a nickname from quadratullah? quaddie? drat? tullah? oh well. he’s called ‘bj’ by his peers. i wonder why.

this guy from my dorm; actually, he is a boyfriend of my dormmate, and his name is W. like the letter. just that. W.
=========================================================================
and a batchmate of mine. his name is german j. german. guess his parents lacked creativity and imagination. couldn’t think of any other name so they decided to use their last name for their son’s first name.

i have a friend whose name is orlando. and his last name is florida. his sister’s name is miami. and their youngest sibling? her name is blanca. orlando florida, miami florida and blanca florida. from the US to pampanga. yipeee. tangkilikin ang sariling atin.

gotta scram. i’m having dinner with my friends leonida rosario (what a name!), ronald allan (like the president-wanna-be, may his soul rest in peace), jo-anne (yes, with a hyphen) and holtzjosip.
yup. holtzjosip (one word, german-sounding first syllable and bisaya-sounding second name). his dad, fiscal as we call him, maybe wasn’t entirely familiar with the concept of using <spaces>, because holtz’ brothers are named marklloyd, johnsteve and carlodiego. all one word names.

crazy thoughts, i’m telling you. good thing i had already gotten a cab before my thoughts got any worse.

hahaha..that was funny. it made me remembered the name of my college classmate. his name was Radin Radin, yes first and family name. the story? when he was born, the nurse asked his father what name he wants for his son. his dad was drunk then and thought she was asking his family name and he said his surname twice.
Bwahahahahaha! This is way too funny for a sane comment!
Holtzjosip… hmmmm…
just wanna share a story from an officemate who happens to have a friend whose name is mike gadi.. when asked for a name for his baby, sabi nya, pag babae: sugar (gadi), pag lalaki: puff (gadi).. nyahahaha.
